This is great fun, Jayshree! When first setting up my Projectkin.Substack.com, I'd fooled around with buttons and in the process discovered a post by Subpub.Substack.com* that gave me an inclining of the potential for custom buttons but I found the instructions confusing. Further as a 2021 post, I had no idea if it was still valid... and now you've provided simple and clear instructions — as I've come to expect. Thank you, this is BRILLIANT!

Substack saves your buttons as defined only when in 'Manage offers', and you can reuse the link as long as it has not expired. Through custom button on the post tool bar? No.

Yes, as a custom button on the post tool bar.

For example, like there are now: "Subscribe", "Share this post", etc.

I am surprised:

The code of the writer image there is this: <img src="https://images.unsplash.com/photo-1517971129774-8a2b38fa128e?crop=entropy&amp;cs=tinysrgb&amp;fit=max&amp;fm=jpg&amp;ixid=M3wzMDAzMzh8MHwxfHNlYXJjaHwxNHx8d3JpdGVyfGVufDB8fHx8MTcxMzE5NjY3MHww&amp;ixlib=rb-4.0.3&amp;q=80&amp;w=1080" alt="woman sitting in front of black table writing on white book near window" />

In your case, the link is to linkedin, but linkedin is not in such code.

Great!!!

Can I write a note with your video (and link to your article) and an explanation of it in Spanish for my subscribers and followers? Because I think is of interest to all.

Hi Salvador, thanks for the feedback. Yes, I changed the embedded unsplash link via Substack toolbar. I appreciate that you wish to share it, and I would request that you embed my article or link to it rather than use elements separately please. These are paywalled posts sometimes, and I keep them updated when new info is available to me. See my link to another writer's metrics post above. Thanks a ton!

Hi Jayshree!

Thanks for your guidance.

Do you please know how to use 'code block' when adding personalized buttons ?

I am not sure I understand what the goal is here. Code block is to create formatted code blocks for technical posts. Not sure you can create personalized buttons for it - if you can host it on another url and image-link it or button-link to it, it may work. Experiment!

Indeed it seems like Substack doesn't support HTML-supported content.

Clearer thanks!

That is correct, no html or css supported.
