I'm thinking of expanding my Etsy store to share here on Substack. I'm not sure how that will work, but it is an idea. Great read, thank you for such detailed tech information. You are doing a valuable service for some of us who are what I might lightly refer to as tech challenged.

Thanks for the feedback, Patti! You can use the same approach for Etsy links. Highlight the best of your catalog, and link purchase links to images, and text from your catalog.

Good recommendation, I shall check it out. but we still need to host the storefront on Substack. It is too bad Substack doesn't allow embeds.

Sorry, the question was: Did you try payhip and ecwid?

Interesting idea, but in my opinion Shopify is the platform for this.

Thanks for sharing. Your comment made me realize I needed to expand 'Caveats.' Post is now updated. Appreciate it. My intent is to showcase how creators on Substack can still use a summary page to showcase their products and services. I am not entirely sold on Shopify - I find it is too heavy for a digital storefront, especially for new creators. Coaching/Courses still need other solutions.

Yes, it is perfect for physical products, but not necessarily for courses, etc. I like your thinking about Shopify as a digital e-commerce platform. Good luck with the store!

I think EDD, payhip and ecwid work better in this case than Shopify.

You write: "Pre-order and Notification Setup: Use Substack to announce upcoming releases. Set up a subscriber notification page and link it in your estore for pre-order signups. For example, set up a landing page on ConvertKit to receive signups."

Then, if you have several products, ConvertKit will send email automatically in each case?
