These seem highly effective ‘Best Practices’ vis a vis Commercial Aspects. With respect - what % of Substack authors might they apply too ? Would one be correct in assuming approx 100% of authors self publishing here would love to increase ‘exposure (reach) & readership ?
It’s my perspective that your ‘topics’ are essentially ‘Problem Solving’ & Solutions - thus extremely appealing, valuable & at the same time easily Accessible .. but many of us perhaps require ‘Lateral Solutions’ to ‘Solve Problems’ such as the obvious ‘conundrums’ I’ve alluded to in this reply. There really are no ‘short cuts’ - though astonishing talent and or ‘message’ usually breaks through if given even the tiniest ‘opportunity’ via ‘word of mouth’ for example.
My faves among your excellent Posts are the simple solutions to improve our capabilities in Presentation and/or ‘Site Management’ (what I often call ‘workflow’) ! And please note - am quite aware your audience reflects an astonishing spectrum of ‘Platform’ & Operating Systems’ ie Hardware/Software just to be ‘in the game’ ! Keep up the excellent work thanks ! Always glad to lend a hand here .. even in ways that may not be evident !
Lots of great information here Jayshree. I have been bouncing these ideas around in my head for some time, particularly because I don't want to seem pushy or desperate. Since I don't have a paywall my paid tiers function more like a tip jar but I still want to ensure that those people who do support me with a paid subscription get some additional value. There are a lot of factors to consider.
Hi Matthew, thanks for the feedback. I think it is important to note that the substack has a 1-10% conversion ratio. You can always experiment to find the sweet spot, am sure those who wish to pay will, and those who wish to leave will leave! Another approach is to paywall archives as a passive strategy.
Tip jars are a nice tool to use as well, and with one-off buy-me-a-coffee links are another monetization strategy.
Thank you! Great information 👍♥️
you are welcome!

Thanks for sharing! Yes, insight articles are more about best practices, strategy, and technology trends. Many do wish to monetize their publications.
Let me what site management, and workflow management topics are of interest as well. Thanks.
